Only 48,580 miles from new; 12 service stamps, the last at 47,277
miles in May 2018; Panoramic roof; heated seats; cruise control; just
recommissioned following six years off the road; running and driving nicely on
site
First registered in May 1999, this SL320 has been entered into
the sale by a close relative of the owner (the 4th registered keeper) who is
unwell. We are told that the car was left standing under a car
port with the soft top up from 2019 until earlier this year.
It has just been recommissioned by Surrey Garage of Whyteleaf at a
cost of £1,324 (invoice on file). This included draining the fuel tank and
fitting a new fuel pump, new fuel filter and fuel pipe. It also got a new
alternator and a new battery and was put through an MOT in May which it passed
with just a couple of minor advisories (n/s/f lower suspension arm ball joint
dust cover deteriorated; o/s door mirror glass faded).
Although the hard
top still detaches/attaches correctly, the electric soft top only rises
half-way up due to standing so it will need lubricating/servicing. The
outer layer of the soft top could also do with a clean as it
is stained with algae (see photos). The paintwork has gone a bit dull
and has fine scratches here and there but could no doubt be improved with a good
machine polish. It retains all its original handbooks and the 12-stamp
service history is shown in the photos.
Starting promptly and driving
nicely as we have moved it around on site, it would doubtless benefit from a
proper service and check-over before any long journeys are
undertaken.
