5.7-litre V8 homage to the
Cobra; Tremec transmission; just one owner and 1,355 miles from new; Halibrand
style wheels; side-exit exhausts; get yourself
noticed!
The hugely charismatic DAX 427
(also known as Tojeiro) has remained the undisputed market leader for more than
30 years and has steadily established itself as a much-sought-after classic
sports car in its own right.
The car's enduring popularity owes much to
DAX's policy of continual product improvement and painstaking attention to
detail. A philosophy that has clearly shaped every aspect of their cars from its
state-of-the-art technical specification, top quality composite body and
sumptuous leather interior, to its deep-dish Halibrand-style wheels, trademark
stainless steel side-exit exhausts and low, wide, purposeful
stance.
This car presented here is a
Dax Tojeiro 427 5.7-litre V8 homage to the Cobra, built and first registered in
2010. A potential show-winning example, it has covered just 1,355 miles
from new in the hands of one owner. The vendor's good lady decided on this car's
colour scheme, thinking long and hard to ensure this car stood out from all the
blue ones on the road. She finally decided on Aubergine Pearlescent,
complemented by Magnolia hide upholstery with Aubergine piping, a fantastic
choice, we think you will agree.
The Chevrolet 350 V8
(5.7-litre) was blueprinted and fully balanced with Edelbrock
fast-road cam and cylinder head, The engine was built using all new parts
apart from the engine block which is a pre-1974 unit, fully reconditioned.
Married up to the new Tremec manual transmission it make a perfect combination
for any true petrolhead.
Combined with the stainless
side exhausts, chromed tubular bumpers and over-riders, polished stainless steel
roll-over hoops, alloy stone guards, alloy flip-top fuel filler, rosewood
steering wheel and shiny Halibrand-style wheels, the details and finish are
second to none, while the performance, sound and experience are almost
indistinguishable from that of a genuine Shelby
Cobra.
This car offers fantastic
value for money; has been extremely well cared for and drives as well as it
looks. With Dax still very active with parts, servicing and advice, any new
owner will become part of a very special group of enthusiasts who know and
promote these thrilling cars extremely well via club meets and track
day events. A
large file of receipts and instructions detailing the build and all the costs
involved are included with the car.
Once you have felt the
shove of a 5.7-litre V8 in a lightweight open-top car, you're hooked! A great
car and a real opportunity to buy a very special DAX.
