Only
covering just under 1,000 miles since the rebuild; family owned for 20 years; an
array of photos showing the renovation
This Land Rover 1959 series 2, 88” 2 1/4 petrol was rebuilt in 2024
with original chassis (rear 1/4 chassis has been replaced) runs and drives as it
should been family owned for 20
years.
Undergoing a full rebuild from the chassis up including axles swivel
hubs, bushes suspension all ball joints etc, the steering box; gearbox; transfer
box also all went through a rebuild at the same time (there is an array of
photos showing this).
The engine was subjected to an overhaul including all gasket
replacement, carb rebuild, starter service and a new fuel tank complete with the
pump.
The vendor has informed us that lots of other work was carried out at
the same time, too much to list but hope the photos show the extent of the work
that was carried out.
The car was driven here over 30 miles, starting, stopping and driving
as it should since it has been on site, only covering just under 1,000 miles
since the rebuild.
The current mileage is showing only 30,500 (but this cannot be
verified) MOT Till April 2026 (note tax and MOT
exempt).
RX8
heated electric seats installed for a bit of comfort but can easily be put back
to original.
The Heritage certificate shows the car as a 1959 Landover but the V5c
shows the car being first registered in the UK in January 1988 (looking towards
the vehicle being registered outside the United Kingdom and imported but this
cannot be verified).
