The
Land Rover Defender 90 is an iconic and highly capable off-roader, renowned for
its rugged design and exceptional all-terrain ability. With its short-wheelbase
layout and roots tracing back to the Land Rover Series I, it remains a favourite
among enthusiasts for its durability, versatility and unmistakable character,
and has more recently become something of a modern cult
classic.
This very smart 2003 example, has been
subject to an extensive programme of refurbishment and upgrade in recent years.
Originally a high specification ‘County’ model finished in black, it has been
transformed into a striking yet highly usable example.
Externally, the vehicle has been repainted in metallic grey,
complemented by its original black roof. It sits on black alloy wheels fitted
with brand new BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres, while further additions include
side steps, chequer plate detailing, updated badging, LED lighting, mud flaps
and a tow bar with electrics, ensuring it remains as practical as it is visually
appealing.
The interior has been comprehensively
upgraded with a quilted leather retrim, including supportive front bucket seats
and a matching centre cubby box and armrest. New rubber floor mats have been
fitted throughout, maintaining its practicality. As a County model, it retains
desirable features such as electric windows and benefits further from an
upgraded infotainment system incorporating DAB radio, Bluetooth, USB
connectivity and a reversing camera.
Mechanically, the vehicle is fitted with the well-regarded TD5
engine. The vendor advises that it has been fitted with an uprated fuel pump and
has been remapped, resulting in a noticeable improvement in
performance.
Showing just four registered
keepers, including the current vendor who acquired the vehicle in 2022, this
Defender has clearly been the subject of a well-considered project, now only
offered for sale due to lack of use.
The vehicle
is now presented with a 12 month MOT after a new fuel tank guard has been fitted
in lieu of the previous test and is now ready to hit the
road.
In summary, this
is a smart and well-specified TD5 Defender 90, offering a blend of style,
