First registered in February 2000,
this Land Rover Discovery TD5 GS is finished in metallic green and is powered by
the 2,487cc five-cylinder turbo-diesel engine coupled to a manual
gearbox. Now showing 176,523 miles, the current V5C records just one former
keeper, the vendor having owned the vehicle since March 2000 — effectively a single-family-owned example for almost its entire
life. It comes with two keys and an MOT valid until February
2027.
Originally
supplied by Shukers of Shrewsbury, it was purchased to provide family transport
for growing children and has remained in regular domestic use ever since. Being
the seven-seater GS model, it offered the
versatility required and has continued to serve in that role. The vendor tells
us it has never been involved in any accidents, and its only off-road use has been at occasional
point-to-point meets. Maintenance has been
carried out by Roean Trench of Telford, who have looked after the vehicle over
many years, the hefty folder of invoices backs this up.
More recently, the Discovery has
benefited from a new rear chassis section along with a spring-suspension conversion, addressing
two of the well-known age-related issues on these models.
Driven to the sale and has been starting and driving on site for the photographs
and video.
As
with many Discoverys of this era, both sunroofs sufferd leaks and are now
sealed closed. The rear door climb-step also requires some remedial
work. These points aside, it remains a vehicle that has grown up with the family
and become a faithful member of it, now looking for a new home after more than
two decades of continuous ownership.
