The
speedometer currently displays 53,837 miles, although this mileage cannot be
verified; 16 previous MOT certificates; almost 24 years of current
ownership
First registered in January 1974,
this Jensen Interceptor III is powered by its 7,212cc V8 petrol engine, coupled
to an automatic transmission. Showing four former keepers in total, the car has
been in the current owner's possession since August 2002, representing almost 24
years of ownership.
Originally finished in Blue,
the Jensen was repainted in March 2003 in a more fitting Brown Metallic, chosen
to complement the beige leather interior. The combination gives this grand
British GT an especially period-correct and distinctive
appearance.
The speedometer currently displays
53,837 miles, although this mileage cannot be verified. The history file
includes 16 previous MOT certificates, invoices showing some of the work carried
out over the years and a selection of workshop manuals.
The Interceptor was driven over 25 miles to our site and, while with
us for photography and a short video, started, drove and stopped as
expected.
With its unmistakable styling,
luxurious interior and thundering V8, the Jensen Interceptor III remains one of
the most charismatic British grand tourers of its era. This long-term owned
example, with an interesting history file and attractive colour combination,
offers an excellent opportunity for the enthusiast or collector looking for an
imposing and increasingly collectible classic.
