The Porsche 928 was a bold departure
from Porsche's traditional sports car formula, combining a powerful
front-mounted V8 with luxurious surroundings and effortless high-speed touring
ability. Today, the distinctive 928 is increasingly recognised as an important
modern classic.
This 1983 Porsche 928 S is
finished in Metallic Silver with a Dark Blue leather interior and is powered by
the 4,664cc V8 engine coupled to an automatic transmission. First registered in
August 1983, it has had eight former keepers and has been in the current
ownership since March 2023.
The odometer
currently displays 90,189 miles. Unfortunately, the car's history file has been
lost over the years, so there is little supporting documentation
available.
The Porsche is currently running and
driving and was moved around the site for photography and filming. However,
while on site it was noticed that the engine appears to have developed a
misfire. We would therefore recommend that this is investigated and rectified
before the car is returned to regular use.
Offering the opportunity to acquire an increasingly collectible V8
Porsche at an accessible level, this 928 S would make an interesting
recommissioning project for an enthusiast, with its distinctive styling,
luxurious specification and charismatic V8 engine providing plenty of
appeal.
