Showing 74,723 miles; just emerged from
an eight year comprehensive restoration program;
ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian; unusually well-documented history
stretching across two continents
Manufactured in 1959, this delightful MGA 1500
Coupé has recently emerged from a comprehensive restoration programmed spanning
more than eight years and is now ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
Beautifully presented in Old English White with a freshly trimmed red interior,
it is an especially attractive example of one of MG's most elegant and enduring
designs.
Equally
impressive is the car's remarkable history. Originally supplied in the UK, it
was taken to South Africa during the 1960s by its original lady owner, who
retained the car for many years before returning it to the UK in 2013. The
accompanying history file paints a fascinating picture of the car's life, with
the current V5C notably recording zero former keepers.
Showing 74,723 miles, the MGA is
offered with an extensive and weighty file containing invoices, receipts and
supporting documentation accumulated throughout both its ownership history and
restoration. Of particular interest is a collection of handwritten booklets and
journals detailing journeys undertaken in the car over the years, providing a
rare and personal insight into its past.
Accompanying the vehicle are its current V5C
registration document, South African paperwork and a substantial collection of
invoices relating to restoration and maintenance. During our photography and
video, the MGA started readily on the button and drove smoothly around the site,
giving every indication of being a well-sorted example.
Combining handsome looks, a freshly
restored presentation and an unusually well-documented history stretching across
two continents, this MGA represents a wonderful opportunity for enthusiasts and
collectors alike. The history file is genuinely captivating, and interested
parties are strongly encouraged to spend time exploring its contents, as it
forms a significant and highly enjoyable part of the car's
story.
The
vendor advises that with new door seals just fitted that closing the doors
requires care and patience, once the rubber has bedded in this will
ease.
