2 Former Keepers; 1998cc
5-Cylinder Turbo; 5-Speed Manual; Rare metallic Blue; First Registered August
1997; currently showing just; 65,517 miles; 2 former
keepers
A particularly appealing
example of Fiat's charismatic Coupe, this top-of-the-range 20V Turbo has had
just two former keepers from new and is now becoming increasingly difficult to
find in this condition.having covered just 65,517
miles.
Launched at the 1993 Brussels
Motor Show, the Fiat Coupe's striking angular styling was penned by Chris
Bangle, later of BMW fame, while the beautifully individual interior was
designed by Pininfarina. The combination of its distinctive styling and potent
five-cylinder turbocharged engine made the Coupe something of a modern classic
almost from the outset.
The 20V Turbo produced around
220bhp and 230lb/ft of torque, with 0-60mph taking just over six seconds and a
top speed of around 150mph. A Viscodrive limited-slip differential helped put
the power down and gave the Coupe a surprisingly capable driving experience for
a powerful front-wheel-drive car.
This example comes with an
impressive history file including 14 old MOTs, invoices and the original factory
sales brochure, together with three original keys and two alarm fobs. The
cambelt was last changed at 53,000 miles. The MOT is valid until June 2027 with
no advisories recorded and benefiting from 2 new front tyres recently
fitted.
The vendor advises that the
Portofino blue paintwork was a relatively rare factory colour for the Coupe and
certainly complements the distinctive styling and the beautiful black leather
interior.
The car has demonstrated that
it is both usable and ready to be enjoyed. With its low mileage, limited
ownership, desirable 20V Turbo specification and increasingly rare status, this
is an exciting opportunity to acquire one of Fiat's most distinctive performance
cars of the 1990s.
