A charmingly original MG TC,
long-cherished and newly
brought back to fine mechanical order.
This appealing TC comes to
market from a deceased estate, the late owner having enjoyed it since 2014.
During his tenure the car was treated with care rather than cosmetic
interference, resulting in the wonderfully mellowed appearance it wears today —
the sort of gentle patina that only time and sympathetic ownership can
create.
After a spell of limited use,
the car has recently been recommissioned to ensure it is ready for confident
motoring. The work carried out has been thorough: the fuel system has been
cleaned and serviced, carburettors rebuilt, ignition components renewed and all
fluids replaced. The braking system has also been attended to, and a fresh
battery installed. It now starts promptly, runs cleanly and drives exactly as a
good TC should.
The current V5C shows only five former keepers
and the mileage showing is only 5,940 miles, the paperwork includes an invoice
for the recent re commissioning works totaling £1,268. The car is does seem in
lovely order but the mileage obviously can not be
warranted.
Finished in Old English White, this is a highly usable
example — ideal for relaxed touring, club outings or simply preserving as a
wonderfully honest post-war sports car. It
captures the essence of MG motoring beautifully and offers the sort of enjoyment
that made the TC such an icon in the first place.
A straightforward,
characterful TC with all the right qualities for its next
custodian.
